Hey there, this is not dead or abandoned.

Concerning a recent email, I will say that I have become quite busy with my other work (graphics design and content writing) thus I have delayed this project a tiny bit. I am feeling the urge, due to my incompetence so far with PHP, of possibly hiring someone to help set up the groundwork.

There will be Apotheosis, and the rpg_script will be updated, just have some other work to push through.

This site is ugly. So what?

I never intended to waste time on making the homesite pretty, and I feel it would be a distraction to what I care about: getting the scripts done and working!

So, if a simple “ugly” site makes you not want to visit, then I am sorry – I am not changing the way it looks unless I have updates. I want this site to be accessible to everyone, and that includes people (like me) who may not have the best vision in the world.

So thanks for understanding :)

Also, progress is being made on the login system. It is a hard thing to do, and I may end up having to hire outside support to help me with this. When it is done though, the rest should come easily.

Updates on RPG_Script

By: Jackuul

April 13th, 2009 · No Comments · Scipts, rpg_script

Currently working on actually rebuiding the user system used in the rpg_script, once completed I will port it into the script and hopefully all will easily integrate. Once this is completed, it should be a relatively secure registration system and have much more functionality (sessions and cookies that are secure) and once it works I will add more to it (salting passwords and cookies).

After that I hope to get the registration form bot-secured with captcha and also a humanized question (you know the type ‘Are you a neanderthal?’ type yes or no). I hope to have the humanized questions randomized as well.

Once this is comoleted I will begin looking into how to make the game better and easier to customize again. However the priority right now is that darn login system.

This login system will also be used for the apotheosis script eventually, however I want to get rpg_script up to snuff, so to speak.

rpg_script updates

By: Jackuul

April 2nd, 2009 · No Comments · Scipts, apotheosis, rpg_script

The current offering of the rpg_script will be undergoing a series of updates that will be released and finalized.  This will be, once it is complete, the final version and release of the rpg_script.  New features however will make it easier to use and to profit from, and also easier to install.

  • New Options file for setting various items from the paypal address to google search [100%]
  • Addition of a captcha and email verification system[0%]
  • Correction of minor code errors[0%]
  • Attempt to bring it closer to xHTML compliancy [0%]
  • Additional security on the post strings and filtering of usernames[0%]
  • Addition of sessions[0%]

These have yet to be done and are being worked on.  I will update as I complete each goal.  Once this is all completed and tested, the new version of rpg_script will be finalized and ready for purchase.

After that it will remain up and only security updates offered.  Further development will go toward the new Apotheosis script which is based on rpg_script.  I expect to have the rpg_script finished in a few weeks to a month depending on the time I have.  Following that, apotheosis will begin development and could take up to a year.

Just because rpg_script will cease development does not mean it is being dropped, as I will likely end up making addons for it to expand what it can do while I work on Apotheosis.
